They told me that unemployment would go over 8% if we did not pass the stimulus.......

Today's unemployment report is mixed:

"Employers added the most jobs in five months in October, with the education and health care sectors leading the way.

But the unemployment rate, measured by a separate survey of households, remained stuck at 9.6 percent for the third straight month."

You can put a happy face and claim that we've hit bottom......or you can say that the numbers stink!

Here is the political bottom line:

We add around 100,000 working-age adults to the population each month.

We must create 100,000 jobs monthly to keep up.

At the current pace, it will take a few years to make up for the employment losses since the recession started.

Question: Why haven't we focused on "growth" policies?

The new Republican majority needs to pass, and send to Pres BO, an emergency bill that keeps the Bush tax cuts, freezes spending and call for more free trade to promote US exports!

Let Pres BO veto that!
