Pres BO had to say 3 things Tuesday night:
First, thank the troops. They accomplished a lot even when people like BO were making life difficult for them.
Second, tell the parents that their son died in a noble cause. In other words, this is no time for campaign rhetoric!
Third, look to the future and explain the strategic opportunity in Iraq.
How did he do?
I like what he said about the troops and their sacrifice. I give him good marks here!
He correctly pointed out that we have an interest in a successful transition to stability to Iraq.
Overall, I liked the Iraq portions of the speech.
Beyond that, I was confused about the rest of the speech. Why did he say that we are starting to withdraw from Afghanistan in the summer of 2011?
