We've heard for years that Republicans gave "tax cuts to the rich"!
In fact, it was one of candidate BO's best lines at the "yes we can" rallies during the 2007-08 campaign.
It was as popular as "I will close GITMO"!
Reeality check: We are not closing GITMO.
Why not? The Dems balked at moving any of the terrorists to their district jails.
Dems are now balking at ending those "tax cuts for the rich", too!
Greg Sargent of The Washington Post wrote this today:
"Even as President Obama is mounting a strong stand in favor of letting the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire, and even as he's signaling that it will be a major campaign issue, more and more vulnerable House Dems are bolting in the other direction."
Let me add a couple of thoughts.
First, the Dem party is made up of "wimpy talkers".
We saw this during the Iraq War. They were for the war, changed their minds, ran against in 2006 and then didn't have the guts to cut the funding.
Wimpy talkers or people who make promises and then don't have the guts to follow up on them!
Second, I think that this is further evidence that Dems are expecting a bad day on the first Tuesday of November.
I believe that the Bush tax cuts should be extended. It would be a huge mistake to raise taxes today.
At the same time, who are these "rich" that Pres BO wants to punish?
They are the people who invest and create jobs.
Let's not call them rich.
Let's call successful entrepreneurs, or the backbone of US prosperity.

"Within 24 hours of Obama's major address in Ohio on Thursday, a Democratic senator, three House Democrats and another two Democrats vying for open House seats all distanced themselves from Obama's economic plan."
It must be so hard to be a Dem president with a Dem congrressional majority.
