What were you listening to 35 years ago?

Back in the summer of 1975, Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb hit the top of the international charts with "Jive Talkin"!

It was the # 1 song in the US, and much of the world, in mid-August 1975!

It turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 1975.

It was another gem in the amazing story of these very talented Gibb brothers!

The Bee Gees' story has several chapters.

The first one is when the brothers were just teens looking for a recording contract in Australia. (The family left the UK and moved to Australia in the late 1950's)

The second chapter was the huge international success of 1967-69. This one ended with a big family fight that almost ended the group. I guess that it was too money and too much success for a bunch of young guys!

The third chapter started with a brotherly reunion in 1970 and some big hits like "How can you mend a broken heart", "Lonely days", "My world" and "Run to me".

The fourth chapter was the amazing chart run from 1975-1980. The brothers had six # 1 songs and several best selling albums. They also recorded the soundtrack for "Saturday Night Fever", an album that sold 30 million copies worldwide!

The fifth, and last chapter, was from the early 1980's to Maurice's untimely death in 2003.

This is "Jive Talkin", the song the started the brothers' incredible chart success or Chapter 3.

This song is also from "Main Course", my favorite of the 1970's albums.

Barry does the lead. Maurice & Robin do great backup vocals.

"It's just your jive talkin'
You're telling me lies, yeah
Jive talkin' You wear a disguise
Jive talkin' So misunderstood, yeah
Jive talkin' You really no good

Oh, my child You'll never know
Just what you mean to me
Oh, my child You got so much
You're gonna take away my energy

With all your jive talkin'
You're telling me lies, yeah
Good lovin' Still gets in my eyes
Nobody believes what you say
It's just your jive talkin'
That gets in the way

Oh my love You're so good
Treating me so cruel
There you go With your fancy lies
Leavin' me lookin' Like a dumbstruck fool
With all your

Jive talkin' You're telling me lies, yeah
Jive talkin' You wear a disguise
Jive talkin' So misunderstood, yeah
Jive talkin' You just ain't no good

Love talkin' Is all very fine, yeah
Jive talkin' Just isn't a crime
And if there's somebody
You'll love till you die
Then all that jive talkin'
Just gets in your eye

Jive talkin' You're telling me lies, yeah
Good lovin' Still gets in my eyes
Nobody believes what you say
It's just your jive talkin'
That gets in the way

Love talkin' Is all very fine, yeah
Jive talkin', just isn't a crime
And if there's somebody
You'll love till you die
Then all that jive talkin'
Just gets in your eye

Jive talkin...."
