Today, our "I desperately need to change the subject" Pres BO gave a speech about Social Security:
"President Barack Obama used the anniversary of Social Security to trumpet Democrats’ support for the popular program and accuse Republicans of trying to destroy it." (AP)
We have heard this nonsense before, i.e. Republicans want to kill Social Security.
Unfortunately for the Dems, Social Security won't wait for the Republicans to destroy it.
The program is unsustainable.
We either raise taxes or cut benefits: Social Security will pay out more this year than it gets in payroll taxes
From immigration to fiscal issues, Pres BO is all about playing politics rather than proposing solutions.
We need the truth about Social Security. We don't need another meaningless "hope and change" speech!
