We learned today that Monterrey's business leaders are calling for more federal intervention in their city:
"A surge of drug violence in Mexico's business capital and richest city has prompted an outcry from business leaders who on Wednesday took out full-page ads asking President Felipe Calderón to send in more soldiers to stem the violence.
The growing violence in Monterrey, long one of Mexico's most modern and safe cities, is a sign that the country's war against drug gangs is spreading ever further from poorer battlegrounds along the border and into the country's wealthiest enclaves." (FOX)

I don't know if Pres Calderon has the extra troops but it does not matter.
Monterrey does not need more Mexican troops.
Pres Calderon needs to call on Pres BO to secure our side of the border.
It does not matter how many troops go into Monterrey!
Forget more Mexican troops.
Pres Calderon needs to call on Pres BO to secure our border.
We need a bilateral military mission that shuts down illegal traffic both ways.
Let's get serious about the border, or we will see more Mexican cities under siege and public officials killed.
