We have supported Pres Calderon and the valiant effort to go after the drug cartels.
Unlike his predecessors, Pres Calderon figured out very quickly that Mexico can not coexist with cartels.
We are surprised about all of this talk about legalization.
First, it is not going to happen in the US. Second, legalization in Mexico will have minimal impact because the demand is up here.
We repeat: It would make a lot more sense for Pres Calderon to call on Pres BO to implement a bilateral plan that shuts down the illegal traffic both ways.
