Why did we hear about racial profiling for two months BUT BO's lawsuit DOES NOT accuse Arizona of racial profiling?

Remember the movie "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum"?

It was a great comedy and full of all of those surprises that make life unpredictable.

Well....a funny thing happened on the way to the courthouse.....the Obama administration decided not to mention "racial profiling" or "civil rights violations" in its long awaited lawsuit.

Question: Why not?

My guess is that someone actually read the law and did their homework. They told Pres BO that the Arizona law was rooted on existing US immigration laws.

Over at Power Line, Paul, one of the three lawyers who run that excellent blog, commented on the lawsuit today:

"As I understand it, this is not a situation where Arizona has enacted immigration legislation that's inconsistent with federal immigration law.

Nor, to my knowledge, has Arizona authorized any enforcement mechanisms that violate other federal law."

Again, Arizona did not invent any immigration laws. It simply decided to enforce existing US immigration laws.

How do you tell a state that it should not enforce existing federal law?

We ask again: Why did the Obama administration spend the last 2 months banging the drums of "racial profiling" and civil rights violations?
