Why all of this rain around here?

This is our July 4th weather report:

"
Today: Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers in the morning... then scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight:
Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then a slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent."

This is a bit strange.

We usually get very hot temperatures and killing sunshine this time of the year.

We don't mind the rain. In fact, we need it.

And it gives an excuse to dig up our very favorite rain song, or "Rain" by The Beatles.

"If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.

If the rain comes,
if the rain comes.

When the sun shines they slip into the shade

(When the sun shines down.)
And sip their lemonade.

(When the sun shines down.)

When the sun shines,
when the sun shines.

Rain, I don't mind.

Shine, the world looks fine.

I can show you that when it starts to rain,

(When the Rain comes down.)

Everything's the same.

(When the Rain comes down.)

I can show you, I can show you.

Rain, I don't mind.

Shine, the world looks fine.

Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines,

(When it Rains and shines.)

It's just a state of mind?

(When it rains and shines.)

Can you hear me, can you hear me?......"
