We were told during the campaign that Pres Bush was disliked in Europe for this or that......
Pres Bush was disliked because the told the Europeans what they didn't want to hear, from their corrupt support of Saddam Husein at the UN to their unwillingness to stand up to terrorist states.
We are now hearing that the euros have their concerns with Pres BO! I guess that they are coming around to some reality:
a) economic policies boosting deficits 4 to 5 times bigger than Pres Bush! Remember when we heard that Pres Bush created deficits? Pres Bush's deficits were never more than 3% of GDP! Pres BO is in the 10-12% range!
b) a Dem majority in Congress that does not want to touch climate change legislation; and
c) opposition to free trade from Dems who get big checks from labor unions, the same labor unions that forced Pres BO to shut the US Mexico border to Mexican trucks.
This is the story today:

Potential? Or was it irrational "yes we can-ism"?
What went wrong anyway?
First, the Euros will always be euros, i.e. they need to criticize the US!
It's in their blood or whatever they drink over there!
Second, there are right-center governments in France, Germany, the UK and Italy.
In fact, Pres BO is now to the left of most of our allies!
Who would have believed that the president of the US would be "the lefty" in the room?
Third, and related to the second point, the Euros want to do more about deficits, specially after the collapse of Greece.
Fourth, most of Europe understands free-trade and the Obama administration does not!
Where is the Obama administration on free trade agreements with Colombia and South Korea? Didn't Pres BO put the US in violation of NAFTA with Mexico and Canada?
What happened to all of that nonsense that it was Pres Bush who made us unpopular in Europe?
It was a lot of nonsense. It was nonsense, just like the entire "hope and change" campaign that got so many smart people to lose their common sense and scream "yes we can"!
We will add the Euros to the homosexuals, the hispanos, the liberals, the people who voted for change, the ones who thought that it was all Bush's fault, the ones who expected Iran to change because of BO's smile, the ones who bought all of the garbage about closing GITMO and so on because the list is long!
P.S. How many Euros are listening to Pres BO and sending troops to the NATO mission in Afghanistan anyway?
