Beatriz and I celebrate our 24th anniversary today. (What a patient woman!)
In September '84, Hector & Clara Hinojosa invited me to a Friday night dinner in North Dallas.
During the evening, Clara introduced me to Beatriz Pesqueira, a young woman from Mexico City who had recently moved to the area.
Beatriz & I spoke for a while and went dancing the next day.
We dated & danced through '84 & '85 and got married in July '86.
The boys came fast. They came one after another!
Silvio was born in May '87. He just graduated from Texas A&M and just took a job with an investment banking firm.
Gabriel was born in July '88 and he is attending Texas A&M.
Alejandro was born in July '90 and he is stationed with the US Army at Ft Myers, VA.
Where did the time go? It seems that it was only yesterday that we were running around from one game to another.....or coaching little league baseball....or Beatriz serving as the team mom.....or the boys playing in the city basketball league......or enjoying high school football on Friday nights.
2010 is a bit special because we've formally joined the world of "empty nesters", or couples without kids in the house.
