The All Star Game will be in Anaheim next month.
We would like to see four Rangers in the squad:
1) Michael Young-----hitting .323 and headed to another 200-hit season. Michael will pass Ivan Rodriguez this week and become the all time hits leaders in Rangers' history.
2) Vlad Guerrero----what a pick up in the offseason! Vlad is hitting .338 with 54 RBIs. Is this the greatest bargain signing in baseball history? Could Vlad win the MVP?
3) Josh Hamilton----is this guy hot or hot? He is hitting .309 and looks like the 2008 version all over again. (.....412 with six home runs and 19 RBIs in 13 games)
4) Elvis Andrus-----we always knew that he had a great glove.....who would have believed his performance as a leadoff hitter?
Vlad will probably be elected by the fans. However, AL Manager Girardi needs to add the other three to the squad.
Speaking of Rangers, it may be worthwhile to consider Darren Oliver and his 1.48 ERA to that AL pitching staff.
Oliver is a perfect spot pitcher, a late game arm to pitch to Ryan Howard or another one of those NL lefties in a key situation.
