Twilight zone update: Pres BO assures the UK that he is not "anti-British"!

On Sunday's show, Bill Katz discussed the growing feud between the US and UK over BP:

"
BARACK OBAMA yesterday told David Cameron that his aggressive stance towards BP over the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster was not motivated by anti-British prejudice."

We can't get into Pres BO's head. We don't know if Pres BO has an anti-UK prejudice but we can confirm that the Brits are angry!

As Bill pointed out on the show, Pres BO has not treated the UK with respect, from returning the Churchill bust to the current bashing of BP. Also, BP is a huge source of retirement income for many in the UK.

Bill is not alone. Check out Andrew Neil:

"
Visiting the Gulf for the fourth time today, Obama's rhetoric against BP has only increased his anti-British credentials—and love-struck Brits are finally turning on him."

We understand that BP is responsible for the accident and should do the cleanup.

However, it makes no sense to focus on litigation and "BP bashing" before we plug the hole and clean up the gulf.

There will be lots of time to look back and assess what went wrong. However, we need to work with BP because they are the only ones who have the technology to "plug the hole"!

Last, but not least, did you ever think that a US president would have to say that he is not "anti-British"?

Is this the change that some voted for?
