We just concluded another year of "English as a second language". I had a very nice class this year, including students from Cambodia, China, El Salvador and Mexico.
Thanks to the students!
We've learned a little English by listening to pop music. It was a pleasant distraction to all of those verbs and sentences that we worked on.
This is "See you in September" by The Tempos and from the American Graffiti film!
It is my favorite of the "school is over" songs. There is also a great version by The Happenings!
I look forward to seeing them in September....and that they still love their teacher:
"I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away, don't forget to write
See you in September
See you when the summer's through
Here we are saying goodbye at the station
Summer vacation is taking you away
Have a good time but remember
There is danger in the summer moon above
Will I see you in September
Or lose you to a summer love?
Counting the days 'til I'll be with you
Counting the hours and the minutes too
Have a good time but remember
There is danger in the summer moon above
Will I see you in September
Or lose you to a summer love?"
