The marches are back.
Most "marchers" are hoping that they will influence a tired Dem majority still waiting for that BO-Care bounce that they were promised!
No BO-Care bounce....and not much appetite for tackling another issue that the public does not want.
Dana Milbank pointed out that Pres BO bailed out on immigration reform just last week:
"But as Obama returned to Washington from Illinois Wednesday night, he walked back to the press cabin on the presidential aircraft and, in an impromptu Q&A, essentially declared immigration reform dead. He said "there may not be an appetite" for it."
Wonder how many of the marchers heard that?
BO has always been hard to figure out on immigration reform.
For example, BO voted for the border fence (Latinos Upset Obama Voted For Border Fence) and did not show any support for Elvira Arellano, the young woman hiding in a Chicago church a few years ago. (Watch the video)
Candidate BO did raise a lot of expectations in 2008 by promising to tackle immigration reform in year 1, or 2009!
Pres BO's problem is electoral reality, such as the RCP generic ballot that has Republicans up by 1.
Or articles like this: Democrats privately acknowledge the economy and support for Obama must improve before then to avoid the defeats that could cost them control of the House and possibly the Senate.
So don't expect anything to happen this year.
In fact, don't expect anything to happen until the public is assured that the border is secure.
I feel sorry for the marchers. They are the latest version of "yes we can" screamers waking up to the reality that "hope and change" was a farce.
