First, what about the Sestak vs White House "job" story?
We've learned today that Pres Clinton was the one who contacted Rep Sestak.
Why did Pres Clinton suddenly surface? Why didn't Rep Sestak say that he was contacted by Pres Clinton rather than the White House?
Frankly, I don't have a problem with an administration taking care of people in their party. That's politics! That's taking care of your friends!
However, it is illegal to make an actual offer, i.e. a specific job such as Sec of Navy!
It's crazy to hear that Pres Clinton was a part of this from the beginning. Speaking of Bill Clinton, didn't we hear this one before:
"It Depends Upon What The Meaning of 'Job Offer' Is"
Second, what about Pres BO's press conference?"Blaming Bush" did not work for the Dems in New Jersey, Virginia, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
Why are we back "blaming Bush" at today's press conference?
How is Pres BO going to get Republicans to work with him when he can't speak two sentences without "blaming Bush"?
Today, Pres BO could not answer a simple question about MMS Director Liz Birnbaum.
Was she fired or did she resign? By the way, what a weird day to resign?
It is unthinkable that Pres BO can not assume responsibility for something that happened on his watch.
Did you hear Pres Bush blame the Dem mayor of New Orleans or the Dem governor of Louisiana during Katrina?
We have avoided cheap shots on Pres BO over the oil spill. However, the "blame Bush" nonsense makes it hard for Republicans like me to work with Pres BO!
Third, guess what state is now pushing an anti-illegal immigration law?
Yes, it's Massachusetts. Who? Yes, Massachusetts:
"....the Massachusetts Senate passed a far-reaching crackdown this afternoon on illegal immigrants and those who would hire them, going further, senators said, than any immigration bill proposed over the past five years."
Of course, it needs to be signed by the governor. Nevertheless, it is confirmation of how illegal immigration is now crashing with economic reality in many states!
Fourth, another poll confirms that border insecurity is turning into a huge political issue:
"Sixty-seven percent (67%) of U.S. voters say military troops should be sent to the Mexican border to prevent illegal immigration. A new Rasmussen Reports nationwide telephone survey finds that just 18% are opposed and another 15% are not sure." (RR)
Last, but not least, the Rangers decided to file for Chapter 11 bankrruptcy this week.
And I'm very happy to hear that!
The Rangers need to divorce theselves from owner Tom Hicks. Unfortunately, Mr Hicks has too many business problems and the Ranges need a new owner badly.
We wish Mr Hicks well. I don't have bad feelings toward Mr Hicks but he did make some bad payroll decisions, i.e. the ARod $250 million contract!
So let's move on. The Rangers have a good young team and a good future.
Enjoy your weekend!
