Don't pick up The NY Times today because it is open warfare on BO.
Maureen Dowd wants more emotion from the man who used to drive college students to "yes we can" frenzy: Once More, With Feeling
Miss Dowd misses the point by a thousand miles.
During the campaign, candidate BO told millions what they wanted to hear, from Iraq to GITMO.
That was the candidate.....this is governing! Welcome to the real world!
Frank Rich is not mad at Cheney this week. He is actually angry with BO: Obama’s Katrina? Maybe Worse
Mr Rich writes the unthinkable. He compares Katrina to the oil spill.
And Thomas Friedman thinks that we voted for the wrong Obama: Malia for President
Pres BO is in deep trouble when the NY Times op-ed page is writing stuff like this.
To be fair, what can BO really do? Not much!
BO can't plug the hole.
We are watching another example of why being president is so frustrating and difficult.
Presidents don't walk on water or plug holes under the sea. And they don't get our allies to send troops to Afghanistan either!
BO's real problem is that too many people really thought that he walked on water and would make every problem disappear with the glow of his personality.
It's going to be a very slick summer for BO when the base learns that his personality can't clean the gulf!
P.S. A few weeks ago, Ben Smith discussed a remarkable poll:
"Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor."
Wonder why? Wonder what this poll will say next year?
