What happens when you pitch to Vlad Guerrero here? You give up a lot of hits, HRs RBIs, etc.
Evan Grant posted some rather amazing numbers this morning:
"Over the last 60 years – as far back as such things are tracked – nobody has ever hit in one stadium like Vladimir Guerrero does at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Nobody. Nowhere. Ever.
After three homers in a four-pitch span Thursday and Friday, Guerrero's batting average in Arlington stood at .410 in 65 games and 249 at-bats.
He had a .475 on-base percentage and the slugging percentage of a jumbo jet (.727). He has been unstoppable since he first stepped into the batter's box in Arlington in April 2004 and singled off R.A. Dickey."
Is there a word for this?
Yes....don't pitch to him!
Vlad's presence has made Hamilton take a few more pitches.....and a better hitter.
And he is turned Nellie Cruz into an awesome young power hitter.
We like Vlad here. My guess is that he will finish his career in Texas!
