Who is kidding who?
Is Pres Calderon kidding us with uninformed attacks on the Arizona law or are the Dems kidding him?
On Thursday morning, Pres Calderon was greeted by "clapping Dems".
What's wrong with "clapping Dems"?
Aren't these the same "clapping Dems" that voted to shut down the Mexican trucks program under NAFTA?
Or the same who won't vote for a "guest worker program"?
It was very bizarre clapping given the anti-free trade character of the modern Dem party.
I am sorry to see that Pres Calderon was cynically used by Pres BO to cover up two problems:
1) Pres BO has not sent an immigration proposal to Congress; and,
2) Pres BO does not want to protect our borders.
We ask again: Who is giving Pres Calderon advice? Who told him to line up with the people who have never supported Mexico?
Let's hope that someone is telling Mexicans the truth about the "clapping Dems".
Let's recall what Ruben Navarrette wrote about then Senator Obama and the "clapping Dems":
"Obama has a poor record on immigration.
As a senator, he joined Democratic leader Harry Reid in trying to kill an immigration reform bill with poison pill amendments -- all to please organized labor, which preferred no bill to one with guest workers."
Let's check this from The LA Times:
"Rahm Emanuel, White House chief of staff and longtime party strategist, has argued privately that it's a bad time for Democrats to push an immigration bill, a potential land mine in the midst of a crucial midterm election year."
We really hope that Pres Calderon did not go back home thinking that the "clapping Dems" will give him the "guest worker" permits that Mexico desperately needs!
