The Nobel Peace Prize was the silliest story of 2009!
In 2009, Pres BO became the 3rd sitting US president to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
He joined Pres Teddy Roosevelt, who was awarded the prize for his involvement in ending a war between Russia and Japan, and Pres Wilson, who sponsored the League Of Nations after World War I.
What did Pres BO do to get the '09 prize?
The answer is nothing since he was considered 10 days after becoming president.
I guess that's like giving someone the Cy Young Award before he throws a pitch in spring training.
In the end, the "judges" made fools of themselves and Pres BO is not talking much about the prize. (We will file this "prize" under the "BO-mania" category!)
By the way, most US voters don't think that he deserved it either:
"The central question simply asked whether Obama "deserved" the award, and found Americans by roughly a 2-to-1 margin saying no rather than yes." (Gallup)
