Our "historic" president is bent on making "history".
However, "hope and change" smells a lot like "sleaze and bribery" this morning.
Today's WSJ editorial hits home:
"We summarize some of his most notorious political payoffs nearby, including the legendary $300 million "Louisiana Purchase" for Mary Landrieu, and $100 million for Chris Dodd's favorite Connecticut hospital.
"But special attention should go to Senator Ben Nelson, who played hard-to-get the longest and in return for being the 60th vote won an exemption for Nebraska from paying any of the additional costs for the bill's Medicaid expansion, which is worth $100 million.
He also won millions of dollars of exemptions from the $6.7 billion in health insurance fees for Nebraska-based companies like Mutual of Omaha.
This is the same Senator who declared a few weeks ago that "my vote is not for sale."
Well, he never said: at any price."Again, we have never seen anything to this level before.
It turns out that Dems had to be "bought" in order to subscribe to Pres BO's "historic" agenda.
Wonder how all of those people who voted for change feel today?
Beyond simple corruption, Reid & Co face two huge problems:
1) Public opinion.....the "horse swapping" has turned into a national embarrassment for our "historic" president and his new way of doing business.
2) Lawsuits.....all over the country!
Our friend Bill Katz referred us to: Obamacare sparking 10th Amendment rebellion, action in seven states
"According to AP, South Carolina's Henry McMaster is being joined by the attorneys general of Michigan and Washington state in a suit to determine the constitutionality of the Obamacare proposal.
Their initiative was prompted by a request from South Carolina's two senators, Lindsay Graham and Jim DeMint, both Republicans.
Attorneys-general in at least four other states are also considering joining McMasters, according to AP.
A move by a group of states to challenge the constitutionality of Obamacare could reinvigorate the efficacy of the 10th Amendment, which reserves to the states or the people all rights not specifically granted to the federal government."
Great news!
Many of us have argued that the 10th amendment has been buried by an avalanche of BO initiatives intended to expand federal powers.
We may finally have a fight about the constitutionality of BO-Care, White House Czars not confirmed by the US Senate and a few others.
Our "historic" president is making history.
Unfortunately, this is not the kid of "history" that people cried about on election night 2008. (By His Own Words, Obama Has Failed by Jonah Goldberg)
Question: How can "hope and change" watch this?
"Hope and change"? It looks more and more like buyer's remorse!
