Dear Pres BO: There are no voters or jobs in Copenhagen AND it is snowing in Houston!

We understand how the lady in the cartoon feels:

Climate change or global warming? I don't know but it's very cold around here!

R.K. Lester is professor and head of the department of nuclear science and engineering at MIT, where he is also director of the Industrial Performance Center.

Today, he wrote a thoughtful article: The High Costs of Copenhagen

"When President Obama goes to the Copenhagen climate change summit next week, he is expected to once again declare that the U.S. will reduce its carbon emissions 83% by 2050.

Even though no legally binding agreement is expected, what Mr. Obama says in Denmark will define the U.S. position in subsequent international negotiations.

He will not say how the cuts will be accomplished.

For Americans, the details are worth knowing."

Also, what's the point of Copenhagen if China and India, the two big booming "smoke stacks" of the world, don't go along!

I agree with The NY Post: Economic suicide

Jonah Goldberg makes a good point:

"Overlooked by the mobs who decried Bush's "treason against the planet" (to borrow a phrase from Paul Krugman) is the fact that Barack Obama has opted to stay out of the Kyoto system for the same reason.
Making carbon fuels more expensive for us while not making them more expensive for China and Co. means that fossil-fuel users will move their businesses to the developing world even faster while costs and taxes for consumers will skyrocket."

Pres BO will come home from Copenhagen with his Nobel Peace Prize and face a more skeptical US public.

In other words, most Americans think that the president is talking too much about "climate change" and saying nothing about jobs!

Therefore, someone should say this to Pres BO:

Cancel Copenhagen.....send VP Biden!

Tell the Norwegian judges to mail you the "peace prize" will get it just in time for Christmas! (Also, no one believes that you earned it anyway!)

And go to Michigan and see what a failed economy really looks like!

Sadly, Michigan needs jobs or ideas on how to turn its economy around.

Last, but not least, Michigan needs its factories to start polluting the air means that somebody is working!

Pres BO and the Dems need a quick "playbook correction" or they may find that the political climate will really change in November 2010!

P.S. The recent e-mail scandal does not help either: Americans Skeptical of Science Behind Global Warming!
