Are you ready for the House Dems vs Senate Dems?
Can the Dems ever be happy? Are these people just angry by nature?
Today, we hear that the Senate passed a "historic" bill. (Again, it's only a proposal and we are light years away from the end line!)
Are we ready for a huge fight between the House and Senate Dems?
Yes, we are and this is going to be fun to watch, specially when House Dems attack all of the special treatment given to some Senators!
Nevertheless, let's check what some House Dems are saying:
Senate bill isn't health reform By Rep. Louise M. Slaughter of NY
"The Senate health care bill is not worthy of the historic vote that the House took a month ago.
Even though the House version is far from perfect, it at least represents a step toward our goal of giving 36 million Americans decent health coverage.
But under the Senate plan, millions of Americans will be forced into private insurance company plans, which will be subsidized by taxpayers.
That alternative will do almost nothing to reform health care but will be a windfall for insurance companies.
Is it any surprise that stock prices for some of those insurers are up recently?"
"“It’s pretty clear to me, and I think pretty clear to all of you, that nobody is going to be happy with this,” Dingell said.
“There are going to be a lot of surprises, some of them unpleasant, and we’re going to have to start on doing two things: one is setting up the administration and the other is perfecting the legislation as it proceeds.”"
Does that sound like a united party to you?
