Before we go further, let's remind everyone that Pres BO sends his cute daughters to a very expensive private school.
By the way, he did the same thing in Chicago. (You can't use "the president's family needs security" excuse because the Obama girls have always attended private schools!)
We don't mind that some parents send their kids to private schools.
However, should they be taking campaign money from the public teachers' unions?
Should they be opposing "school choice" for the rest of us?
I wrote about BO's hypocrisy on public education: The anti-choice Democrats! and Let the parents choose schools
Yesterday, the White House announced that Pres BO would speak to the nation's children next week.
Worse than that, Pres BO will suggest lessons for the nation's children.
Ain't that sweet: "Hope and change" in pre-K!
Obviously, it has caused a big reaction from parents who don't get the move.
Frankly, I don't get it either and my boys have all graduated from high school.
In the Dallas area, the parents are not happy: Obama's plan to speak to schoolchildren ignites furor in Dallas-Fort Worth
"By midday, local school districts say, they were inundated with hundreds of phone calls from parents urging them to not show Obama's speech at school.
Some parents threatened to keep their children home from school if the video was aired.
"We had no idea that there would be a public outcry," said Laura Jobe, a Mesquite ISD spokeswoman.
"It caught us by surprise."
Cody Cunningham of the McKinney ISD said:
"We rarely hear of parents pulling children out of history or government classes where they're studying the politics or historical significance of a previous president.""
They are hearing from parents......aren't they?
Pres BO's decision is insane and blatant narcissism.
Pres BO is once again demonstrating that he loves to hear himself talk.
Unfortunately, too many of us are sick and tired of his "talks".
Please govern and stop talking!
Have you checked the polls lately?

Rasmussen Reports today:
"Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove."

I like this one from Bill Katz of URGENT AGENDA:
"Maybe the White House is starting to get the message. This is the United States. We don't worship leaders."

Check out A Call to Arms for Parents Upset About Obama’s Public School Address by Barbara Curtis:
"Consider these questions included in the Department of Education package of pre- and post-speech “Classroom Activities“:
•Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?
•What is the President trying to tell me?
•What is the President asking me to do?
•What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?
How narcissistic, manipulative, and self-serving!"

"The President of the United States — whether an Obama a Bush or a Lincoln — is not my son’s daddy.
That’s my job.
We’ve had enough nannystatism, and enough daddystatism, too."
