Before the speech, Pres BO was facing this political landscape:
In other words, the Dems don't have the votes and the public is not supporting it.
So what did Pres BO do to get back in the game?
He delivered a partisan speech attacking critics and more critics.
Why didn't he identify the real critics?
They are DEMOCRATS.......the ones telling Speaker Pelosi that they won't support the plan!
Tucker Carlson got this one right: A Man on His Way to Bitterness
"Never has a president been warped by Washington quicker.
At times tonight, Obama sounded like an embattled second-termer with a 35 percent approval rating.
What percentage of his speech was spent lashing out at his enemies, real and imagined?
Radio and cable-television pundits, George W. Bush, former Congresses, unnamed ghouls employing “scare tactics,” whose “only agenda is to stop reform at any cost”—they’re all against him, Obama said.
And they’re lying.
This isn’t how confident leaders speak.
These are the complaints of a man on his way to bitterness.
So soon?"
Beyond the partisan tone, he didn't tell us how he is going to pay for it.
Cost savings? Why aren't we doing those right now?
Won't add to the deficit? Really? How is that possible?
Here is the bottom line: The speech didn't work and won't help Pres BO get back in the game.
Let me use a baseball analogy: He desperately needed a grand slam but he popped to the second baseman!
P.S. Gov Pallenty of Minnesota is a 2012 possibility. Watch his analysis of the speech:
