Arthur Laffer is the chairman of Laffer Associates and co-author of “The End of Prosperity: How Higher Taxes Will Doom the Economy—If We Let It Happen” (Threshold, 2008). His research on health care can be viewed at www.lafferhealthcarereport.org.
Today, he wrote: How to Fix the Health-Care ‘Wedge’
"Rather than expanding the role of government in the health-care market, Congress should implement a patient-centered approach to health-care reform.
A patient-centered approach focuses on the patient-doctor relationship and empowers the patient and the doctor to make effective and economical choices."
What's good about Mr. Laffer's idea? It puts the patient and the doctor in control of health care. And it keeps government out of the way!
