BO can't blame the health care debacle on Republicans!

Like an old fashioned partisan, rather than the candidate who ran on changing the political culture of red vs blue states, Pres BO told his critics to get out of the way so that he can clean up the mess.

What's the problem with that speech? We are not sure what the mess is.

For example, is it the $750 billion TARP that Sen Obama voted for?

We hear that Pres BO "inherited" a deficit. Yet, he voted for everything in the deficit that he inherited! He also added a $ 1 trillion in six months!

We assume that PRes BO does not include Speaker Pelosi or Sen Majority Leader Reid among those who created "the mess"!

Didn't the Dems run the Congress for the last two years of Pres Bush's second term?

Didn't Dems also oppose Pres Bush's efforts to clean up Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac?

Wasn't Sen Obama a huge recepient of Fannie Mae campaign contributions?

Do Pres BO's remarks make sense? They do not. Of course, I was not one of those jumping up and down at the mere appearance of the candidate!

Just curious: Is "the mess" the $ 2 trillion federal budget deficit? (71% Say Obama’s Policies Have Driven Up Deficit)

We will place Pres BO's speech under the "pure partisan nonsense" file!

Again, what's BO's problem?

Check this headline: Democrats struggle to sell an undecided health plan

There is no plan. This is like giving someone a signed check and having someone fill in the details.

Again, there is no plan with specific details.

Question: Does this plan cover abortions? Can someone answer that question? Yes or no? Nobody knows because it depends what page you are reading!

What we have a 1,000 page draft that most Dems, including Pres BO, have not read.

I have not read the plan. Some bloggers have. They point out that the "plan" is full of contradictions.

Why is it that no Dem can answer this particular contradiction?

See Questions for your health care town hall: Secs. 411 and 412

How can congressmen answer questions when no one understands these two sections?

How can you impact 20% of the US economy on an unspecifc promise of hope and change?

This "plan" is a bureaucratic nightmare.

We agree with Professor Sowell: Beware of Bureaucrats' Prescriptions

So where are we?

Support Slips for Health Overhaul

Pres BO and the Dems have failed Sales 101: You can't replace something that most people like with a confusing proposal that the salesman does not understand.

P.S. Someone over at BO's staff should read Doug Schoen's Crunch Time for Obama: Mr. Obama still has time to avoid repeating the mistakes of the first Clinton term but it will take a fundamental and near-term shift in ideology, approach and commitment to regain his momentum.

Why should they read it? Schoen is a Dem. Schoen also sees a repeat of 1993-94 when Pres Clinton and Dems couldn't get their act together on health care.
