Are you surprised that the left has turned on Pres BO so fast?
Are you wondering why the summer of '08 has become such a nightmare for the man who was supposed to save the world?
"Their biggest worry is that Mr. Obama is soft, that he is unwilling or incapable of fighting hard enough to counter the forces responsible for the sorry state the country is in."
Obama soft? You mean the guy who sat in Rev Wright's church and did not publicly object to the first sermon after 9-11? He is a "softie"?
"Axelrod harbored doubts about whether Obama's aversion to confrontation when it becomes nasty and personal would hamper him as a candidate.
"When it comes to taking a punch, I don't know whether you're Muhammad Ali or Floyd Patterson," Axelrod wrote to Obama in a November 2006 memo reported in a new book that reprises the campaign by Washington Post political reporter Dan Balz and former Post writer Haynes Johnson.
Now Obama supporters are wondering about their man.
If they're to see what he's made of, Obama has to first get in the ring.
Forget the niceties, it's time to fight."
Does Eleanor want BO to stand up and fight like a man, "kinda of" like Bush? It sounds like it to me!
"Could it be? Is it possible that some of President Obama's polling problems reflect his losing support with his liberal base?
Two recent polls say exactly that."
I'll stop here.
I won't quote anything from the angry liberal blogsphere because it is all "F-word BO" this and that. (Can these people ever talk without blaming Bush or F-wording everything?)
The left wing attacks on BO are not suitable for a family blog. Besides, I don't want my mother to call and say that my blog is full of ugly words.
So are you surprised that the left is souring on BO?
I am, and I guess, I am not!
First, most of these people bought into BO-mania without knowing a thing about the man. It was the silliest thing ever seen in a US presidential election!
Second, no one challenged BO in the primaries or general election. He danced around issues with soaring rhetoric and generalities.
BO was inspiring because BO did not say anything specific. (It's inspiring to hear that he will heal the planet.....it's not so inspiring when he is going to raise your taxes to do it!)
What's next for "BO-Cinderella" in this fairy tale?
Is the handsome prince going to find the pretty girl that he danced with at the ball?
Not this time.
No "happy ever after" pretty ending to BO's story!
This is a fairy tale quickly turning into one nasty nightmare for all of those who got invested in it!
Frankly, the worst is around the corner. Let me repeat: BO's presidency is just starting to get difficult!
First, we will get a tax increase.
I mean all of us not just the top 5%! (Obama Hikes 10-yr Deficit to $9T)
BO's budgets are unsustainable without a tax increase or massive spending cuts!
Second, we are about to get into a huge fight in Afghanistan.
It won't be pretty specially now that Democrats are questioning the war:
"Seven in 10 Democrats now say the war hasn't been worth the costs..."(WILL DEMS SUPPORT O'S AFGHAN FIGHT? by Linda Chavez)
Peter Baker of The NY Times, a newspaper that surrendered all of its objectivity to support BO, is writing this: "Could Afghanistan Become Obama’s Vietnam?"
Bad summer?
Wait until it turns into a bad fall, bad winter, bad spring and a very hard presidency.
It wasn't supposed to be this way, specially for all of those who blindly jumped on the BO-ride.
Unfortunately, it is this way.
This is going to be very difficult task for the man with the pretty smile and very thin resume!
P.S. Let's check our friend Gerald Warner from the UK. He picked up on the farce early on. He comes back with some thoughts on BO's plunge in the polls:
"For a flesh-and-blood politician, such plummeting popularity would be alarming; but this is the messiah – The One – the holistic president who was supposed to unify a troubled nation.
That delusion has been exploded."
That delusion has been exploded."
