For years, we've heard about the unhappy young people of Iran.
We've been told that the young generation wants change, i.e. the freedom to do what most of us do in the West.
The future is here. Have you seen the demonstrations on TV? This is a real uprising!
What should we do?
First, understand that this is beyond an election dispute. No matter what happens, the demonstrators won't be happy.
Second, the mullahs will always blame the US, no matter how hard Pres BO tries to keep a distance: Tehran Accuses U.S. of Seeding Dissent While Opposition Plans New Rallies
Third, I agree with Morton Kondracke: Iran Elections Make Nuclear Talks Harder
Again, what should we do?
We should align ourselves with the future, the demonstrators. They will be running the country soon and we need them to remember that the US was on their side!
I agree with Obama, Clueless on Iran by Charles Krauthammer:
"And where is our president?
Afraid of "meddling."
Afraid to take sides between the head-breaking, women-shackling exporters of terror -- and the people in the street yearning to breathe free.
This from a president who fancies himself the restorer of America's moral standing in the world."
Where is Pres BO?
He is out for burgers with VP Biden! Or maybe he is walking BO, the cute family puppy!
