Dear Pres BO: Why don't you celebrate the "ballot box" success in Iraq?

We don't hear much about Iraq anymore.

I guess that's what happens when people have elections and normalcy returns.

Let me be more cynical: The media is on mute because Pres Bush turned out to be right!

After all, didn't Pres BO just agreed to leave 50,000 US troops after 2011.

Wonder how many "yes we can" screamers realize that they voted for BO and got the Bush/McCain policy in Iraq?

How amazing is the situation in Iraq? Check out these numbers:

"Now that the Iraq war is going well, media coverage in America has all but vanished.

So we thought you might like to know that the month that ended yesterday saw the fewest deaths from terrorist violence in that country since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

According to official Iraqi government figures, some 124 civilians, six soldiers and 25 policemen were killed by attacks in May.

Another 344 were wounded, but the number of deaths by violence fell by more than half from the 355 killed in April, which was the deadliest month since September and had inspired fears that perhaps Iraq was heading back into sectarian strife as the U.S. military ceded ever more anti-insurgency responsibility to Iraqis.""

Also, they had elections and lots of women voted in Iraq: We are still waiting for the world's "feminists" to praise the women of Iraq!

Yes, we remember Charles Krauthammer's words:

"There was no Election Day violence. Security was handled by Iraqi forces with little U.S. involvement.

A fabulous bazaar of 14,400 candidates representing 400 parties participated, yielding results highly favorable to both Iraq and the United States."

Shouldn't Pres BO cite Iraq as a "ballot box" success story? Or as a place where women get to vote and run for public office?

Will the angry left allow their man to walk away from another campaign promise or statement?

Politics aside, Iraq is the role model for much of the Middle East.

Iraq has an elected PM, a multi-party assembly and women enjoy a lot of political freedom.

Can you say that about any other country in the region?
