Be careful about running for president. Sooner or later, you may be expected to govern and act like a president.
David Broder has a great column today. It won't be pleasant reading for those invested in "hope and change". We are finally seeing the early signs that the public expects BO to perform rather than just give speeches about healing the planet:
"Five months into his tenure, Obama has become the only president the American people think about.
And a series of polls last week showed that when Americans think about Obama, they are becoming increasingly critical."
Can we officially declare that the honeymoon is over?
Beyond blaming Pres Bush for everything, including the Cubs not winning a World Series in a 100 years, Pres BO is finding out just how complicated the world looks when you are sitting in The Oval Office.
Pres BO is also turning off many of his supporters:
On Iraq, he disappointed the base by implementing the Bush-McCain plan.
Seriously, what is the difference between BO's Iraq policy and what Bush was doing?
The answer is none.
Back here, Pres BO is angering the homosexuals: Pres BO breaks another promise and throws the homosexuals under the bus!
He is not making our neighbors very happy with arbitrary violations of NAFTA: More on BO's trade war against Mexico and Canada!
Over in Europe, everybody loves him but no one is sending troops to Afghanistan or showing much interest in BO's economics: BO and Europe: Lots of love on the surface and confusion underneath!
Bush is gone and Obama is now in charge.
Wonder when will BO run for "the time tunnel" and demand to spend the rest of his life living in 2007-08!
It was a lot more fun being the candidate who told everyone what they wanted to hear!
