Michael Young was moved to third base.
Omar Vizquel was brought in to play behind Andrus. Great move! Vizquel can still start 20-30 games a year and the rookie can learn from one of the best.
Vizquel is at the end of his career but he is still smooth with the glove.
I like Vizquel's chances to make The Hall of Fame because the numbers are awesome:
"....his .984 career fielding percentage is the highest of all-time for a shortstop in Major League history
....On May 25, 2008, Vizquel became the all-time leader in games played at that position, passing Luis Aparicio.
Vizquel is the all-time leader shortstop in double-plays made. He remains second all-time (behind Aparicio) in hits recorded while playing shortstop.
....2,657 hits and 385 stolen bases".
Vizquel played 11 years in Cleveland and played in 2 World Series. I can still remember an amazing play that he made against the Marlins in the 1997 Series.
Yes, Vizquel should join Aparicio in Cooperstown.
P.S. This is an amazing double play by Vizquel. I have never seen anything like this before:
