Like North Korea, Iran has decided to greet "hope and change" with a missile test:
"President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran test-fired a new advanced missile Wednesday with a range of about 1,200 miles, far enough to strike Israel and southeastern Europe.
The announcement will not reassure the U.S. government, coming just two days after President Barack Obama declared a readiness to seek deeper international sanctions against Iran if it shunned U.S. attempts to open negotiations on its nuclear program.
Obama said he expected a positive response to his outreach for opening a dialogue with Iran by the end of the year." (F0x)
So much for all of that outreach! So much for BO's personality or diplomacy.
How would you like to be Israel?
Actually, Israel is not the only country concerned with an Iranian missile.
"Israel is terrified of an Iranian bomb.
But she is not alone in the Middle East in this.
Sunni Egypt is nervous as well, as is Saudi Arabia.
Many observers believe that an Iranian bomb would ignite a nuclear arms race in the region.
The Saudis can certainly afford to buy the technology.
Even the tiny (but wealthy) United Arab Emirates are investing $7 billion in a missile-defense system.
Does the Obama administration want to see the Middle East, hardly known for stability and reliability, bristling with nuclear weapons?"
The missile test comes a day or two after this:
Let's hope that "hope and change" is ready to break a few more campaign promises, such as having unconditional talks with Iran!
P.S. By the way, we heard that McCain beat Obama in Israel by a landslide. Wonder why?
