A year ago, the Rangers were 7-19 and on their way to blowing up the whole season. (They did fight back but it's tough to recover when you are 12 games under .500!)
Today, they are 15-12 and sitting on top of the AL West: Rangers take pole position in AL West
OK. I know that it's only 27 games and there are 135 to go!
Nevertheless, you have to like the way that the Rangers are playing.
First, they are really getting good starting pitching. It's nice to see Rangers' starters taking the game to the 7th or 8th. Also, they are getting great closing work from Frankie Francisco.
Second, rookie Elvis Andrus is as good as the scouting reports said that he was.
We heard about Andrus all winter. We heard about his speed and range.
Is Elvis good? Yes he is.
Third, Ian Kinsler is turning into one of the best players in the AL. And we still have Michael Young and Josh Hamilton.
Yes, it's early but I like the 2009 Rangers!
