It's been a very bad month for BO's campaign promises.
"President Barack Obama committed during the 2008 presidential campaign to moving to end the Clinton administration-era policy.........The Pentagon says it has no plans to repeal the don't ask-don't tell policy for gay troops."
In 1992, candidate Clinton promised to let gay troops openly. He eventually compromised after sitting down with the generals who were going to carry out the order. They persuaded him to sign the "don't ask don't tell" order.
In 2008, Obama made the same promise. He is apparently not too quick to enforce it or change anything.
