(This is Dr. Biscet, a noted political prisoner in Cuba's real prisons. He is one of many black political dissidents in Cuba!)Let me say it again.
We are open to a new relationship with Cuba, as long as political prisoners are released and multi-party elections are held soon.
We want a free and democratic Cuba.
We don't want a family dictatorship!
We don't want Cuba to be a communist dictatorship that attracts foreign investment to keep old party leaders in power.
Beyond that, it's hard to get excited about a congressional delegation headed by Rep. Bobby Rush and Rep. Barbara Lee.
We agree with Myriam Marquez: the Clueless Seven!
My question: What planet have these members of The Congressional Black Caucus been living in since 1959?
It can not be earth!
We like this from Captain Ed:
"Leftists just don’t know when to stop.
One can argue that the Cuban embargo has been a failure without trying to turn Fidel and Raul Castro into heroes.
Unfortunately, the Congressional Black Caucus couldn’t figure that out, and instead beclowned themselves by fawning over the two men who have oppressed journalists and democracy activists for 50 years...."
It's interesting to hear: Fidel Castro to Congressional Black Caucus members: 'How can we help President Obama?'
Castro can start with this: How about holding elections?
How about releasing Dr. Biscet from political prison?
The CRC should be as concerned with Dr. Biscet, a black Cuban in prison, as they are with drinking coffee with the Castro brothers.
Frankly, I would have been a lot more impressed with a US congressional delegation headed by Sen McCain and Sen Lieberman!
Add Professor Thomas Sowell and Professor Walter Williams to give the Castro brothers a few lessons in freedom and economics!
Of course, don't expect the Castro brothers to sit down with serious people anytime soon.
The Castro brothers are desperate for someone to bail out their failed socialist experiment.
They are hoping to get on the "hope and change" bandwagon before "approval ratings" and reality hit Pres BO later this year or 2010.
Let's hope that President "Apology" extracts more concessions from the Castro Brothers than he did from the Euros. After all, the "euros" love BO to death but won't send troops to Afghanistan. (Did you hear that the Euros are sending translators? We really need those....don't we?)
The Castro brothers need money.
Don't give it to their demands unless they are willing to make some real changes, not just a Cuban version of "hope and change"!

Wonder if Rep Bobby Rush has seen these videos:
