Dear Mr Selig: A couple of ideas for the new baseball season!

We love Bud Selig.

He has been a good commissioner. He's had to work through a lot of problems, from steroids to revenue sharing.

Also, I think that Mr. Selig loves the game.

Last, but not least, it was Mr. Selig who led the effort to bring baseball back to Milwaukee. I will always be grateful for that. I have a bunch of pictures from that Brewers' home opener years ago.

First, let's talk about ticket prices.

Here is the good news: Baseball is cheaper than the NBA, NHL or the NFL.

Here is the bad news: They play 162 games, or 81 at home. Most teams are out of contention by August 1st. They have to sell tickets when the team has no chance of winning anything.

According to a new study, MLB fans are paying an average ticket price of $25.43!

That's $100 for a family of 4! You can do the math for a family of 5 or 6 and so on!

Add parking and concessions. That's another $25, at least.

Can MLB keep this up? The answer is no.

It's time for the owners and the union to check ticket prices.

Second, what about the DH?

Drop it. I can't stand it. It's also stupid to play with two sets of rules.

Third, what about post season baseball?

I'm OK with the wildcard but baseball needs to play more afternoon post season games.

Weekday World Series or League Championship series games should start at 4pm ET.

Why? Because the kids are asleep and not watching post season baseball at midnight or 11pm Central time.

Last, but not least, can you force every team to wear white at home and grey on the road?

I can't stand these colored jerseys!

It's OK for batting practice but not for a major league game.
