BO is not ready (and we are not the only ones saying it)
Over in the UK, the British press is having quite a day with Pres Obama and PM Brown.
This is from The Telegraph:
"A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama’s inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to “even fake an interest in foreign policy”. …
The American source said:
“Obama is overwhelmed.
There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.
“That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they’re finding it a hard thing to do everything.”
Obviously, the presidency is a horrible job. As they say, they go in with dark hair and come out looking very old. Just look at Clinton and Bush's before and after pictures!
Pres BO's problem is that he has "zero" executive experience.
He has never managed anything. He never ran a city or a state or a department.
Have you seen how much this guy is travelling out of Washington? Have you ever seen a president, including Pres Clinton, who spent so much time campaigning and so little governing? Pres BO needs to go to the office and call on Sec Geithner, for example, to present a plan now, not next month!
Jennifer Rubin is seeing what a lot of us are seeing:
"Well, it’s becoming obvious he’s not really much of a manager, decider, legislation-craftsman, or supervisor.
His vetting process is in shambles and key Treasury slots are still vacant.
His Treasury Secretary is a classic under-performer and Obama encourages that tendency by talking about everything other than our immediate recovery needs.
He lets Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid do the legislating — and they’ve come up with an embarrassing stimulus and an omnibus spending-bill even Democrats aren’t swallowing.
What does he like to do? Summits.
These are in essence campaign events — faux town-halls where nary a discouraging word is heard and no real work is done.
And he loves those campaign rallies around the country."
Yes, we want our presidents going out and meeting the "folks".
We also want them running things.
We are watching "reality" catch up with someone who is unprepared for "the toughest job in the world".
Get out of the ship because there is a huge iceberg down the way!
P.S. Our friend Bill Katz brought this to our attention.
It's a bad day for Pres BO when the AP writes this:
"Although the administration likes to say it ''inherited'' the recession and trillion-dollar deficits, the economic wreckage has worsened on Obama's still-young watch.
Every day, the economy is becoming more and more an Obama economy."
Wow! It looks like somebody at the AP is desperately trying to get out of the "tank for Obama".
My guess is that you will see more and more of this!
