How many more "hits" can the business of baseball take?
Yes, we love the game. And the game will always be beautiful at Little League and high school fields!
However, this is another black eye for the owners and the players' union!
We hear that ARod, probably the best player in the game today, "took something" with the 2003 Rangers. (Report: A-Rod had positive steroid test while a Ranger)
What was ARod thinking? Why was this kept secret for 5 years?
Here is the tragedy.
ARod and Barry Bonds were destined to the Hall of Fame before they put anything in their bodies.
Bonds had incredible stats before the decided to turn into baseball's "The Incredible Hulk".
Would Bonds have caught Aaron? I don't know but he would have had huge numbers.
Look at Ken Griffey. He just passed the 600 home run mark and there are zero rumors about him.
I think that you can make a case that Griffey, not Sosa, McGwire, Canseco, ARod or Palmeiro, is the top HR hitter of our time.
What about the 2003 Rangers? Are they now "the all time steroids" team?
In 2003, the Rangers had an awful team but they allegedly led the league in stuff: 'A-Roid' completes Texas Rangers' All-Juiced team!
Wonder how Mr. Hicks, who owns the Stars and Rangers, feels about all of this?
In 2003, the Rangers had a huge payroll, lost 90-something games and had lots of "bad stuff" going on in the in the clubhouse.
What about the Rangers' 2002 lineup that led Major League Baseball with 230 home runs?
What does it mean now considering that ARod and Palmeiro hit 47 and 43 home runs respectively.
Baseball doesn't need another steroids scandal. What is Commissioner Selig going to do with the best player in the game? He needs to make a huge statement that ARod's behavior is unacceptable.
