The Carter-ization of Obama is scary!

Here is something to take with your morning coffee:

"There are two kinds of people in the electorate:

1. People who remember how horrible the Jimmy Carter years were.

2. People who are about to find out." (Let's Hope Not)

We are not saying that Pres. Obama is a failure. After all, he has only been on the job for 2 weeks! He's got lots of time to be another Lincoln.

What worries me is Pres. Obama is not standing up to Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats:

"Jimmy Carter didn't become Jimmy Carter because of the Bert Lance scandal.

He became Jimmy Carter because he was perceived, in the words of that Boston Globe headline writer, as a "wimp."

President Obama is a long way from being perceived that way, but he seems headed in that direction." (Memo to the president -- please remove that "kick-me" sign)

You can use a lot of words to describe former Pres. Bush: "Wimp" was not one of them!

At some point, Pres. Obama is going to have to stand up to someone.

The "stimulus" written by House Democrats is a joke. It's nothing but political payoffs to all of those groups, like ACORN, who busted their tails to get Democrats elected.

It's a bad day when a non-partisan economist like Robert Samuelson rips the proposal:

"There were tough choices to be made -- and Obama ducked them all."

Pres. Obama allowed the House Democrats to load up the bill with protectionism: Protectionism as Stimulus

It's time for Pres Obama to "man up"!

Of course, making tough choices and taking positions is foreign to BO's resume.

So far, he is still the same guy who sat in Rev. Wright's church and didn't hear anything.

Or, the state senator who voted "present" over 100 times in Illinois! Or, the US Senator who blasted "deficits" but voted for everything that created the deficits! (Hot Air 101: Didn't Obama vote for the "deficit" he claims to be inheriting? )

P.S. It won't get easier on foreign policy. Ed Morrissey has a good post:

"Biden predicted that world leaders would challenge Obama and his inexperience within the first few months of the adminstration, but they’ve already started to line up in the first few days.

Iran launched a satellite on an ICBM to show they could go ballistic once they have nuclear weapons.

North Korea reportedly has set up another ICBM for a test.

Now Russia has flipped an ally in the war on terror — and all of this in the first 14 days of Obama’s presidency."
