It's easy to defend Israel.
How many rockets would we tolerate?
How would we react if rockets were coming over out borders and landing in our communities?
Is Israel overreacting? I don't think so!

Again, doesn't Israel have a right to defend itself?
We hear the "proportional response" argument again.
We hear the "proportional response" argument again.
As Rick Moran wrote:
"The idea of “proportionate response” is a favorite among liberals. It appeals to their sense of “fairness” and besides, it makes them look like statesmen.
Rather than using their jets, Israel should build an airforce of Sopwith Camels and drop cowpies on the terrorists.
Better still, they should ask citizens to build the Israeli version of the Kassam rocket in their basements complete with crude homemade launchers and the occasional accident that prematurely blows up and kills a few kids along the way."
Who is leading the "proportional response" parade?
How about Rachel Maddow of Air America and MSNBC:
"But while we're on the wild wide world of scary tour, of course, Israel has started another war.
A third straight day of airstrikes on Gaza, the death toll now more than 300 people. Israel says they are doing this to prevent Palestinians from firing rockets into southern Israel.
First of all, there's the question of proportionality as to how many people those rockets have killed versus how many people the Israeli bombing has now killed.

There's also the issue of effectiveness. In the midst of this massive air assault killing hundreds of civilians in Gaza, a rocket fired from Gaza today killed a man and wounded seven in the Israeli town of Ashkelon.
Effectiveness. Three Israelis were also stabbed by a Palestinian in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank today.
Is there a military solution to this problem?"
We don't know if there is a military solution to this problem. We do know that someone is firing missiles at Israel. We also know that countries have to stand up once in a while and defend themselves.

It's easy to sit in a New York studio and criticize Israel's reaction. What would Rachel do if someone was firing into her home?
My guess is that she would fire back or call for help!
The Middle East is a very complicated place and Israel is in the middle of it.
Again, it's hard to criticize a country that wants to defend itself.
Hamas started this and Israel must defend itself!
