As I mentioned in an earlier post, I used to love talking with my late Uncle Jose about Cuba.
He was there. Uncle Jose was at The University of Havana when the students marched against Batista.
Like my parents, Uncle Jose was present for the hype.
He was also there for the disillusionment.
He was there to see what happens when people pick "change" without inquiring about the "change agent".

""Cuban mothers let me assure you that I will solve all Cuba's problems without spilling a drop of blood."
Upon entering Havana on January 7, 1959, Cuba's new leader Fidel Castro broadcast that promise into a phalanx of microphones.
As the jubilant crowd erupted with joy, Castro continued.
“Cuban mothers let me assure you that because of me you will never have to cry."
We know that's not true. Little Elian Gonzalez's mother drowned trying to get him to freedom in the US.
Bruce Walker is the author of two books: Sinisterism: Secular Religion of the Lie, and his recently published book, The Swastika against the Cross: The Nazi War on Christianity.
"Castro delighted the Far Left because he hated America.
The sick, sad answer to his adulation is that simple."
We don't like to dwell about the past. We have to live in the present. However, we remember every single political prisoner today. We specially remember those executed in Castro's prisons.
