Here is the good news: Richardson was not nominated for vice president.
Here is the bad news: Obama has another team problem.
Bill Richardson is under investigation in New Mexico. Did Richardson tell Team Obama that he was under investigation? Did he mislead them?
To be fair, we don't have much information on the investigation. Therefore, we assume that he is innocent until proven guilty.
Also, let me add that I thought that Bill Richardson was one of the few Dems actually qualified to be president.
After all, Richardson has executive experience and a strong resume. He was a congressman, a UN representative, a Cabinet member and now the governor of a small state.
Obama does not! Incredibly, Obama has never held a supervisory position in his career. In fact, Obama will start his first managerial job when he becomes president of the US!
There are now two huge problems for the Obama team:
1) First, Chicago and Rahm Emmanuel. We have not heard from Emmanuel since Prosecutor Fitzgerald arrested Gov. Blago. Why has this guy gone on silent mode?
2) Second, what kind of reception is Mr. Burris, the appointed senator, going to get in the US Senate?
P.S. By the way, we haven't discussed Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder. You can expect very difficult questions at their confirmation hearings.
Holder was all over the Marc Rich pardon. We support the presidential pardon powers. However, Bill Clinton's last minute Rich pardon was one of the most despicable acts ever by a president. A bit later, Rich's wife made a nice donation to the Clinton Library! Ain't that sweet coincidence!
