A big aircraft carrier named after Bush-41!

It was a great ceremony. I was fortunate to catch the end of it, and specially Bush-41's remarks.

We forget that young George Bush was a Navy pilot in WW2. He was shot down.

After the service, he finished college, played first base for Yale, got married, started a business and so on! He was Reagan's VP for 2 terms and then had his own presidency.

Quite a life!

I did not know that young Bush had played in the first two College baseball world series! I guess that he must have been a pretty good athlete.

It must have been a very emotional day for Bush-43 and the Bush family:

"President George W. Bush landed Saturday on the USS George H.W. Bush, a new aircraft carrier named after his father — the ultimate honor for a decorated Navy pilot from World War II.

With just days left in his presidency, Bush and first lady Laura Bush joined his father, now 84 years old, and other Bush family members at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia for the commissioning of the nuclear-powered carrier."

WW2 veterans are dying at a fast pace. Therefore, it was nice to honor a great president, and also, a WW2 Navy pilot! We salute Pres. Bush-41 and all of the WW2 veterans!
