The amazing story of Iraq!

(This picture is from Michael Yon's website. He has written outstanding dispatches from Iraq. It shows young Iraqis smiling and it's great to see that!)

Omar and Mohammed Fadhil write for Pajamas Media in Baghdad. They have a front seat to the story of Iraq, a country that continues to move forward day by day.

How can you tell that Iraq is doing well?

First, the US media does not talk about Iraq anymore.

Second, BO has gone silent on Iraq criticisms. Beyond that, BO has retained Bush's Sec of Defense and will complete the mission in Iraq.

Two years ago, Pres. Bush went against public opinion polls and made one of the most important presidential decisions in modern history. Bush, along with McCain in the Senate, decided to save Iraq. They did:

"The United States has succeeded in transforming a bellicose, autocratic state into a friendly one that is making steady progress towards becoming a self-sustaining democracy — the international community is finally coming to recognize this transformation."

This is their last paragraph:

"When hypocrites and extremists sober up from their shoe hangover they will see a new Iraq which will not be easy for them to recognize.

Even harder for them will be to contain the tides of freedom and democracy which are bound to reach their shores and shake the foundations of dictatorships and extremism."

Who would have believed this 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 years ago?

Iraq is on the verge of being a major success story and US ally in the heart of the Middle East.

Who is the luckiest guy in the planet? Obama.

Why? Because he turned out to be dead wrong on Iraq.

Last, but not least, we congratulate the Iraqi people and the US soldiers who have done such an amazing job!
