Obama is not telling the truth about Ayers!
Since his surprise victory in Iowa, we have seen Barrack Obama throw a lot of people, and campaign positions, under the bus.
Here is the bottom line: Obama's positions will change whenever the audience changes!
Here is bottom line # 2: Obama will tell you what you want to hear, from Iraq to "cutting taxes for the rich" and now to his past associations.
In the spring, the audiences were "yes we can screamers" who treated the candidate like a rock star.
It worked. It got a bunch of leftist activists to put him over the top in small states. BO got the "super delegates" but Hillary Clinton got the votes in big states.
Since early summer, we are seeing a new BO.
We are now into the centrist BO.
Let me give you a personal anecdote.
In the spring, BO came to our son's high school. He called on the young people to volunteer. He did not call on them to volunteer for military service nor was BO wearing a flag on his lapel.
Now, BO calls on young people to volunteer. He is now mentioning military service and he is got flags coming out of his ears.
Here is bottom line # 3: Obama is conveniently patriotic. Obama's patriotism depends on the ideological make up of his audience.
Now, we get to Bill Ayers.
Dick Morris has a great analysis of the Obama-Ayers relationship:
"In the best tradition of Bill Clinton’s famous declaration that the answer to the question of whether or not he was having an affair with Monica depended on “what the definition of ‘is’ is,” Barack Obama was clearly splitting hairs and concealing the truth when he said that William Ayers was “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”
The records of the administration of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), released last week by the University of Illinois, show that the Ayers-Obama connection was, in fact, an intimate collaboration and that it led to the only executive or administrative experience in Obama’s life."
Obama has been saying that Ayers was just a neighbor down the street. Ayers was just another constituent.
In fact, this is a very substantial relationship.
Ayers and Obama worked together on many education projects. My guess is that Obama does not want US parents to hear about how Bill Ayers wants to change our educational system. Ayers was active in Chicago education. Maybe this is why Obama sends his daughters to private schools!
A few weeks ago, I thought that the Ayers story was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Today, we can confirm that Obama chose to stay close to Ayers.
This is a legitimate story and it should be pursued further. At the very least, someone should ask him about it during one of the debates.
This is not something that happened in 1970 when the despicable Ayers and his wife tried to kill police officers.
This is about the present, when the equally despicable Ayers was trying to influence Obama.
Obama can not "do a Rev Wright" on Ayers.
He can't say that he never heard anything that Ayers said!
Also, we don't buy The NY Times' front page "free ad" last week saying that Obama and Ayers were just a couple of casual contacts!
