Congratulations to the Phillies!

Let's hope that MLB does not have a repeat of game 5.

I can't recall anyone winning the World Series over a "3 day game". It was a little strange to tune into a baseball game starting in the bottom of the 6th!

Some of us will forever second guess Commissioner Selig for not calling game 5 after 4 innings. I just think that it would have been better to play a normal game 5.

Nevertheless, the Phillies were the better team.

In the end, they got better starting pitching, clutch hitting and the amazing closing work of Brad Lidge.

I said Phillies in 7. They did it in 5!

The Rays did a great job. They surpassed every level of expectation imaginable. The Rays have a great future and will get a lot better. Watch out for BJ Upton and Evan Longoria.

Philadelphia has some of the nation's most passionate fans. They live and die with the Phillies, Eagles, 76ers and Flyers.

Unfortunately, the local teams have not won many titles.

The Phillies won in 1980 but lost the 1983 and 1993 series.

The Eagles have had great teams but no rings. (The Cowboys had something to do with that in 1990s)

The Flyers won a title in 1970s but nothing since. The 76ers have not won anything for a long time either.

Again, congratulations to the Phillies and their great fans.

Enjoy the championship parade and stay out of the sleet!

Isn't it great to hear Harry Kalas finally call a Phillies WS victory?
