Will 2008 end up like 2004?

Gallup has a pretty good track record on polling. Therefore, this is good news for McCain:

"But it appears that the way Obama stacks up against McCain at this point is similar to the way in which Kerry performed against Bush in 2004 within several key racial, educational, religious, and gender subgroups." (Obama's Support Similar to Kerry's in '04)

I guess that Rick Moran is right that this is "a pretty good start to a winning coalition".

The Dems will try to say that McCain is a 3rd Bush term.

It is true that most Americans do not want a 3rd Bush term.

It appears that they don't want a 1st Obama term either! Why? Because Obama is just "hope and change" without specifics. He does not have a track record on bringing people together. Juan Williams nails Obama on this!

Again, Obama is all "hope and change". He is starting to remind me of Jimmy Carter in 1976. Back then, Carter spoke vaguely about change and exploited Watergate to go after Pres. Ford.

Carter '76 had one big advantage over Obama '08. Carter could win southern states!

This is why McCain is in a very good position to win the presidency in 2008. As someone said, McCain is a lucky man.
