McCain wins another Clinton-Obama debate
Let's start by giving Charlie Gibson and ABC News a little credit. They asked good questions. They certainly did not do a "Saturday Night Live" on Obama. It's nice to see journalists ask Obama real questions!
Who won? It was John McCain hands down.
Andrew Sullivan had this summary:
"It was a lifeless, exhausted, drained and dreary Obama we saw tonight. I've seen it before when he is tired, but this was his worst performance yet on national television. He seemed crushed and unable to react."
Who won? Clinton may have won on points but will it matter? Hillary does not have the numbers to catch Obama no matter how unelectable he is. I agree with Ambinder:
"Keeping the score card, there's no way Obama could fared worse.
Nearly 45 minutes of relentless political scrutiny from the ABC anchors and from Hillary Clinton, followed by an issues-and-answers session in which his anger carried over and sort of neutered him.
But Hillary Clinton has a Reverse-Teflon problem: her negatives are up, and when she's perceived as the attacker, the attacks never seem to settle on Obama and always seem to boomerang back on her.
So it would be unwise to declare that Hillary "won" the debate in the dynamic sense just yet."
Who won? McCain hands down!
Obama can't answer questions. He is great when he is doing the "hope and change" routine but can't answer questions. He looked awful tonight!
Clinton can't tell the truth! She has incredibly high negatives for a presidential candidate. Do you think that a general election audience is going to buy that she "misspoke" about getting shot at in Bosnia?
How in the world did John McCain get so lucky?
