Why should we use less oil? The answer is Chavez

U.S. Secretary of State Rice believes Chavez is "destroying" Venezuela:

"I do believe that the president of Venezuela is really, really destroying his own country, economically, politically," Rice told lawmakers at a congressional hearing.

The Miami Herald had a good editorial. See Venezuela: Chronicle of a wreck foretold:

"Since the election, Mr. Chávez has canceled the broadcast license of a television station that was one of his fiercest critics. He is moving to nationalize telecommunications and electric industries and to gain majority control over joint ventures with multinational oil companies, among them U.S.-based ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips. Such moves are scaring off foreign investors, even as Venezuelan money flows into South Florida and other safe havens abroad."

Why is he doing this? How can he do this? The answer is oil.

We need to find alternative fuels and other sources of energy. It's time to shut down Chavez by not buying his oil.
